A Debian preseed file works in a similar way to a Fedora kickstart file for automating Linux installation. Note that even though it's no longer mentioned in the documentation you can supply a preseed file on a floppy disk in much the same manner as on a CD or USB flash drive by specifying the preseed file location during the installer boot process.
