Install Android in a VM

    • The Android-x86 ISO file is already downloaded on your computers and can be found in the D:\CNT Files folder
    • Change the network configuration to a "Bridged" card instead of "NAT"

Working With Android

Note: If your system goes to sleep you will need to wake it up by pressing the "X" in the upper right of the VM window and choosing "Send Shutdown Signal" which will cause the android system to wake back up, just like pressing the power button on your phone or tablet does.

  1. Open "All Apps" on your screen by pressing the button on the lower center portion of the home screen.
  2. Click and hold on the "Browser App" and create a shortcut to it on your home screen.
  3. Add a clock widget to your home screen by pressing and holding on the home screen and then selecting widgets from the choices at the bottom of your screen.
  4. Use the Google Play store to download and install the Firefox web browser and one other app of your choice.
  5. Enter the "Settings" app and change the Display sleep time to "Never"
  6. See if you can figure out how to set and test a lock screen passcode. Remember that to send a power button press you need to press the "X" in the upper right of the VM window and choose "Send Shutdown Signal".
  7. Explore additional apps and settings as time allows.
