ISP:
- Controls public IP addressing, assigns IP address blocks (8 IPs) to customers
- Provides public IP address routing between customers
- Provides DNS service, manages authoritative DNS for .com domain
- Provides mail (SMTP/IMAP) service to customers
- Has a public website for themselves
- Provides basic websites (e.g.: http://users.isp.com/~user1) accessible by FTP server
- Runs certificate authority, signs certificates
- Provides DHCP for non-business users
- Provide Jabber IM server
- All servers should log to one central syslog server
- Network diagrammed and documented
- At least 3 end user computers configured to demonstrate services
Company A:
- Users masqueraded behind NAT
- Public web server (with SSL) with FTP for updates
- DHCP for internal users
- SMTP/IMAP mail service for employees (accessible internally only)
- Internal network only SAMBA file sharing for employees (non ext2/3 filesystem)
- Corporate network and servers secured by firewall
- VPN service for employees working from home to access internal servers
- All servers should log to one central syslog server
- Network diagrammed and documented
- At least 2 computers configured as local end user computers
- At least 1 computer configured as a teleworker outside your network
Company B:
- Users masqueraded behind NAT
- Public web server (with SSL)
- DHCP for internal users
- SMTP/IMAP mail service for employees (publicly accessible)
- Internal network only SAMBA file sharing for employees
- Internal web server running myBB forum software
- Internal database server running MySQL
- Corporate network and servers secured by firewall
- All publicly accessible servers must be in a DMZ
- All servers should log to one central syslog server
- Network diagrammed and documented
- At least 2 computers configured as local end user computers
- At least 1 computer configured as a teleworker outside your network
