  1. Complete a basic installation of Windows 7 in a virtual machine environment such as VirtualBox
    • Make sure to set up a "Bridged" network connection
    • Make sure to install the drivers for the virtual hardware (guest additions).
  2. Find and test the following Windows utilities which may be in different places and look slightly different in Windows 7:
    • Device Manager
    • Computer Management
    • Disk Defragmenter
    • Control Panel
    • Event Viewer
    • Task Manger
    • Performance Monitor
    • Add printer wizard
    • Network Settings (IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, etc.)
    • Windows Update control panel settings
  3. Open a command line console with administrative privileges
  4. Shut down your VM and add a second virtual hard drive 10GB in size to the VM
  5. Re-start the VM and format the new second hard drive into two 5GB NTFS partitions
