- Complete a basic installation of Windows 7 in a virtual machine environment such as VirtualBox
- Make sure to set up a "Bridged" network connection
- Make sure to install the drivers for the virtual hardware (guest additions).
- Find and test the following Windows utilities which may be in different places and look slightly different in Windows 7:
- Device Manager
- Computer Management
- Disk Defragmenter
- Control Panel
- Event Viewer
- Task Manger
- Performance Monitor
- Add printer wizard
- Network Settings (IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, etc.)
- Windows Update control panel settings
- Open a command line console with administrative privileges
- Shut down your VM and add a second virtual hard drive 10GB in size to the VM
- Re-start the VM and format the new second hard drive into two 5GB NTFS partitions
