Your ITC domain account is used to provide authentication for virtual machine control, VPN access, and many other critical services. It is important that you set a secure password on this account. These instructions can be used to change your password.

Prerequisites

  • You must have an active ITC domain account which you know the password for (contact your instructor for more information)
  • You must either be directly connected to ITCnet from a computer in a lab or have a working VPN connection to ITCnet
  • Your new password must meet the complexity and length requirements

Password Change

  1. Use the a remote desktop protocol (RDP) client to connect to PasswdChange.campus.ihitc.net
    • NOTE: Be sure to set the correct domain when connecting e.g. (username@campus.ihitc.net) or (campus\username)
    • NOTE: If you are on a Windows system you can use the built in Microsoft Terminal Services RDP client by opening a Run dialog box and running "mstsc.exe" or finding "Remote Desktop Connection" in your programs list or start menu.
  2. Send a Ctrl-Alt-Del to the PasswdChange system. Pressing Ctrl-Alt-End on your keyboard is a substitute for Ctrl-Alt-Del while inside a RDP session.
  3. Select the "Change a password..." option and follow the prompts to change your password.
  4. You will need a fairly complex password to meet the domain requirements.
  5. Close your connection to PasswdChange.campus.ihitc.net. Use Start -> Log off.
  6. End your VPN session.
  7. Start a new VPN session using your new password.
  8. Connect to PasswdChange.campus.ihitc.net to verify you have full connectivity to the domain.
  9. Once you have verified full functionality of your new password in this manner, you can log off PasswdChange.campus.ihitc.net.
