Franske CNT-2300 PC Boot-BIOS Lab

In this lab students, working in partners or small groups, will explore the system BIOS and test a variety of boot options.

1. Boot computer normally (test computer)
2. Shutdown computer
3. Explore system BIOS
4. Install floppy disk drive
5. Restart computer and create boot floppy and boot CD
6. Show booting from floppy disk
7. Remove floppy drive
8. Show booting from USB thumb drive
9. Show booting from CD-ROM drive
10. Explore Ultimate Boot CD utilities (demonstrate two favorite utilities)
11. Restore BIOS and system to original configuration
