# Research online at least three antivirus programs. Make a note in your lab book about the features and costs and various reviews of each. Write down why you selected the one you did.
# Download Microsoft Security Essentials as well as the latest virus definitions to your USB drive and then install them on a CNT-2300 lab computer.
# Download your chosen antivirus program and install it on a lab computer.
## Note that virus definitions for offline installation can be found on the Microsoft Security Portal site: http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/
# Explore the settings for your chosen antivirus program
# Explore the settings for Microsoft Security Essentials including scheduled scans.
# Use a web browser to visit www.eicar.org and attempt to download and run the eicar.com antivirus test file
# Connect your CNT-2300 lab system to the Internet
# Explore the Windows Update process
# Use a web browser to visit www.eicar.org from your CNT-2300 system and attempt to download and run the eicar.com antivirus test file and see what happens
# Explore the Windows Update process including automatic and manual updating
# Download the Windows Defender Offline scanning software and install it to a USB thumb drive or burn it to a CD. Boot the USB thumb drive or CD and explore the offline scanning functions.

  1. Download Microsoft Security Essentials as well as the latest virus definitions to your USB drive and then install them on a CNT-2300 lab computer.

  2. Explore the settings for Microsoft Security Essentials including scheduled scans.
  3. Connect your CNT-2300 lab system to the Internet
  4. Use a web browser to visit www.eicar.org from your CNT-2300 system and attempt to download and run the eicar.com antivirus test file and see what happens
  5. Explore the Windows Update process including automatic and manual updating
