Before starting this process, make sure you have a TFTP server program (TFTPD32 is a good one). Also make sure you have the IOS bin file you want to load onto the router.


Step 1.

  1. Get connected to the router using Hyperterminal.
  2. Make sure your TFTP server is installed and running, make sure to remember the IP address of the computer it is running on.

Step 2.

  1. Turn on the router and hit CTRL-break on the keyboard as the router is loading to get into ROMmon mode.
