In this lab students, working in partners or small groups, will learn about and setup basic computer security.

  1. Research online at least three antivirus programs. Make a note in your lab book about the features and costs and various reviews of each. Write down why you selected the one you did.
  2. Download your chosen antivirus program and install it on a lab computer.
  3. Explore the settings for your chosen antivirus program
  4. Use a web browser to visit www.eicar.org and attempt to download and run the eicar.com antivirus test file
  5. Explore the Windows Update process
