- Packet Tracer can be found at this link.
- Once at the page. Scroll down to Software Downloads and click on Cisco Packet Tracer program downloads
- For Windows-based systems, click either of the two listed choices, one of which includes both the application and a tutorial
How to Install
- Once you have Packet Tracer downloaded. Go to the folder where you saved it. Click on Cisco Packet Tracer Program
- For Windows-based systems, click either of the two listed choices, one of which includes both the application and a tutorial
- Once your download is complete (approx. 65MB), double-click the file:
- At the 'Open File-Security Warning' screen, select 'Run'
- At the 'Cisco Packet Tracer Setup Wizard' screen, select 'Next'
- Select the “I accept the agreement” radio button and select 'Next'
- Confirm the 'default installation directory' or select your own, then select 'Next'
- Confirm the default Start Menu folder or input another, then select 'Next'
- Customize the “Select Additional Tasks" screen as you prefer, then select 'Next'
- Select 'Install'
- When the installation completion screen appears, leave checked or uncheck as you prefer the '“Launch Cisco Packet Tracer”' option and select 'Finish'
- When launching the program icon for the first time, take careful note of the instructions and answer either 'Yes' or 'No'
- After launching, you may be prompted by a Windows Security Alert as to issues with an enabled Windows Firewall. Take careful note of the options, then choose your preference.
- If and when you desire to access the program Tutorials, they can be accessed by selecting 'Help' from the 'Main Menu' bar…the second selection from the top.
